The Rank System
The Rank System is the backbone to your training program at Iron Barbell. Both defining your current ability level and determining what to do in our structured workouts.
In essence by developing your ‘Rank’ you will ultimately be pursuing your own goals (leaner/stronger/fitter). By setting the standard with our Ranks we can give you a clear roadmap to your fitness success and keep you having fun while chasing it.
RANK I Beginner
Stronger than 5% of lifters. A beginner lifter can perform the movement correctly and has practiced it for at least a month.
Focus: General-Endurance and Strength
RANK II Novice
Stronger than 20% of lifters. A novice lifter has trained regularly in the technique for at least six months.
Focus: General-Endurance and Strength
RANK III Intermediate
Stronger than 50% of lifters. An intermediate lifter has trained regularly in the technique for at least two years.
Focus: General-Endurance and Strength
RANK IV Advanced
Stronger than 80% of lifters. An advanced lifter has progressed for over five years.
Focus: General-Endurance and Strength
RANK V Elite
Stronger than 95% of lifters. An elite lifter has dedicated over five years to become competitive at strength sports.
